To be eligible for a rank a student needs to appear and clear in both the groups simultaneously. And it is also necessary to pass in all the papers. Ranks are awarded by the institute to top 50 students getting maximum marks. If two or more students get equal marks than they are awarded the same rank.  Therefore, the number of students in the merit list may be more than 50 but only 50 ranks are declared.
