Academic Council

The Council advises the management on matters related to academic planning, curriculum development, conduct of tests and other such matters of importance. The council consists of a panel of expert faculty members exclusively for the preparation of the Test Papers and to provide a feed back on the students’ performance.

Saurav Khetawat, FCA, MBA Heads faculty team for “Financial Management”

He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant with ample experience as a Financial Analytics at the renowed and one of the world’s largest Professional Service Organization, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC). He is also an MBA in Finance faculty from the reputed Narseemonjee Institute of Management Studies. This synergy between his CA and MBA (in Finance faculty) gives him a unique standing to understand and explain the technicalities of Financial Management in a better way.

It is this holistic and diverse experience that allows him to have a high proficiency over the subjects concerned. The fact that he was also the topper in various subjects of ICAI makes him repository of knowledge required to crack the exams. The vast knowledge that he acquired during his various auditing stints at PwC also makes him the perfect liason between the theory and the much-needed practical exposure, which is critical to succeeding these exams.

Debapriya Chatterjee, FCA, M.COM Heads faculty team for “Auditing ”

He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant presently working with one of the renowed and world’s biggest Professional Service Organization, Ernst & Young (EY). Previously he was associated with another Big 4 accounting firm in India where his responsibilities included both Planning and Execution of Statutory and Tax Audit Assignments independently as well as a member of a team.

He is having more than 3 years of experience in Auditing of MNC’s and other listed Companies both within India and abroad.

Gaining knowledge of both Indian Accouting Standards as issued by ICAI and IFRS issued by IASB over a period of time with experience and his diversified practical knowledge of accounting and auditing in manufacturing, trading as well as in banking organisations, places him in a favourable position to share his useful knowledge and experience with all of us.

Rahul Biyala Engineer – Pune University , Heads Faculty Team for Information Tec. & Systems Audit

He is an Engineer from Pune University with ample Software experience at one of the best software services organization, Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS). Currently he is pursuing his MBA at DoMS, IIT Madras. This triple mix from diverse fields of Electronics, Software and currently MBA gives him a lucid understanding of the intricacies of IT and System Audits. His experience at CTS as a performance test engineer helps him command over System Audits.

This convergence of diverse fields gives him a high proficiency and comfort over the subjects concerned. He is also one of the toppers in the University exams and as such it is quite evident that he has immense knowledge pool with him. This combined with a stint at CTS and then a MBA makes him a perfect person to guide through a holistic approach to succeed in these exams.

Mayank Vishnoi , - Heads the faculty team for SEBI and Capital Market Regulations BA Economics (Hons)- University of Delhi, PG in Securities Markets - IICM.

A “Certificate of Merit” in Economics for being in top 0.01% students (pan India) was more than enough to push him towards specializing the subject. He did his graduation from Kirori Mal College and contributed in various activities from placements to debates. He got picked by HDFC BANK in campus placement and worked there as a “Personal Banker”. He learnt a lot there, about basic banking and relationship building. His inclination towards financial markets brought him many NCFM certificates, and shifted to REUTERS as a “Client-Trainer”. He gained a huge exposure over there, by training “who’s who” of Indian financial sector. But still his unending zeal towards financial markets was unquenched. Finally he landed up in Indian Institute of Capital Markets, Mumbai.

He did a specialized postgraduate program on securities markets from there and, also contributed as a member of editorial committee in their monthly newsletter “DRISHTIKON”. He is an avid reader and keeps a strict eye on all issues related with financial economics. He has keen interest in valuation, equity research, mergers & acquisitions, derivatives and risk management. He describes himself as “a student”, and his motto in life is to learn from every thing. At present, he is learning more about capital markets as an Investment Banker with Darashaw & Company in Mumbai.

Dipankar Rai, B.Com. (Hons.), ACS, ACA - Heads faculty team for “Corporate Law”

He is a Qualified Company Secretary and Chartered Accountant with ample experience in Corporate Law Affairs at the renowned and one of the India’s leading Credit Rating Agencies of India as Company Secretary & Finance Manager in their wholly owned subsidiary ICRA ONLINE LTD. He was also in charge of maintaining all statutory and legal compliances of another subsidiary ICRA Techno Analytics Ltd

Earlier he worked for GTZ (INDIA) PVT. LTD. (a leading company in producing metal finishing chemicals in Kolkata) as Senior Executive, Accounts & Company Law Affairs and was responsible for complying statutory formalities in addition to finalizing the accounts. Presently he is working for SYSMEX (the leader in producing medical equipments in Asia) as Head Finance and Company Secretary in India and as a Head, Faculty for Corporate & Fiscal Law matters.

Amit Sharma, FCA - Heads faculty team for “Direct & Indirect Tax”

He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant with ample experience in the field of Corporate Taxation. Presently working with Ernst & Young in their Taxation Practice division and having done his articleship from D.B. Desai & Associates, he has gained sufficient knowledge of the intricacies regarding the Indian Corporate Taxation, both Direct and Indirect. His attachment with Corporate taxation both academically and vocationally provides him a sound knowledge of the subject.

Desai and his current Taxation profile at E&Y makes him the perfect liason between the theory and the much-needed practical exposure, which is critical to succeeding in these exams.

Pratik Adatia – PGDM – IIM, Indore, FCA – Heads the faculty team for “Accountancy” and “Financial Analysis”

Pratik was working as a trainee with Grant Thornton, an international Accounting and Financial Services firm, while he was pursuing his C.A. course through ‘foundation’ and studying for his graduation. After succeeding in C.A. examinations in the first attempt, he continued working with Grant Thornton with their Assurance Services division. His interaction with senior professionals / peers and experience of working with multi-national and professionally managed companies inspired him for further professional and personal development. Consequently, he enrolled in an MBA program with one of the leading institutes for management education, namely, Indian Institute of Management, Indore.

He was chosen as the Secretary of the Finance & Investments Club at IIMI, namely, Equit-I, wherein he contributed in organizing events (finance seminars), budget analysis and discussion sessions, competitions and researches in the area of finance and investment analysis. He successfully participated in different b-school competitions and had the privilege of developing & presenting award winning business plans to the leaders of Indian and global industry houses, including Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries.

He enjoys the world of finance and investments and is an avid reader. Presently, he is working as an Associate with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, providing Financial Advisory Services to its clients.

Sanjeev Modi , Heads the faculty team for Cost Management

He is a Qualified Cost Accountant (CWA) and a Chartered Accountant (CA) presently working with a reputed Textile Manufacturing Company in Surat, listed on BSE. He has to his credit a tack record of being a successful tuitor for Costing related subjects, which gives him an edge over others to successfully work for Edu Ex in reviewing and providing his insights over the subjects concerned.

His diverse work experience across all major industry lines as a CWA for more than six years now, has also given him enough exposure on the criticalities of the subject thereby making him competent enough to clearly understand and monitor the aspects that really are of a botheration for a student to grasp easily.

He has tried and been so far successful in making a student comfortable with the subject dynamics thus helping a student leverage through his knowledge depth and his will to help a student succeed.

Vikas Upadhyay, MA – Economics – Heads the Faculty Team for Economics & Statistical Methods

He has completed his Masters in Ecnomics from CESP, JNU and has graduated from St.Xavier's College. His teaching experience in the subjects of Economics and Statistics has given him enough exposure and knowledge of the subjects over the past few years. Now he is proud to be associated with Edu Ex as the Faculty Head for Economics and Statistical Methods.
